Forge Sports is part of Forge Youth and we run all sorts of youth projects accross Sheffield; working with different churches and organisations.  Forge Sports rusn a 5-a-side league, 11-a-side teams, netball and discipleship groups.  We want God to be at the centre of sport so that it can be tranformed and enjoyed by everyone for what it is: A gift from God.

Forge Youth is a network of youth work based here in Sheffield. We believe in seeing young people's lives transformed by Jesus Christ. We believe that local youth work and local church is God's primary way of changing this city. We love working together in unity with other churches to see young people meet with their creator and join the Jesus Revolution!

SDFPL

The Sheffield & District Fair Play League (SDFPL) was set up in 1998 in order to provide local churches in the Sheffield district to play football in a safe, friendly but competetive environment, away from the more physical Saturday/Sunday pub leagues.  They have supported us in our league and in getting funding from the football foundation.

Football Foundation

The Football Foundation is the UK’s largest sports’ charity. Funded by the Premier League, The Football Association and the Government, the Foundation directs £30m every year into grass roots sport.

With help from the SDFPL we have received money from the grow the game grant to help keep the league running.

Birchenall Howden are an excellent Sheffield based IT company who have generously donated money to Forge Sports to help things such as this league continue.

Respect

We firmly believe in the respect campaign.  We want our league to be renowned for enjoyment by everyone involved and that means everyone needs respect for the game and each other.

Positive Play

Not only do we want everyone to respect the game and the people involved but we want people to have a positive attitude.  We want teams to be encouraging towards each other and go the extra mile.
